6 Must-Know Facts About the Quran Every Curious Reader Should Know
It’s super easy to be lost and confused with so much information out there related to the Quran, but what actually is the Quran? Well here are 6 things you should know about the Quran!
- The Quran is the actual word of God.
God revealed many Revelations throughout time to various Prophets, including the original Gospel to Jesus and the original Torah to Moses. The Quran is God’s final revelation to mankind.
- Revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Arabic
The Quran was revealed in Arabic to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from Almighty God through Angel Gabriel. Angel Gabriel would come in various forms and recite Almighty God’s very word to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he would in turn recite it to his companions and it would then be diligently memorized and scribed.
- Revealed Over 23 Years Yet Free From Contradictions
Given its consistency and absence of contradiction, it’s truly miraculous that the Quran was actually revealed gradually, sometimes as single verses, other times as entire chapters, over a period of 23 years.
- Preserved and Protected by God
The Quran is unique in the sense that it has remained unchanged and preserved from the time of its revelation until now. Amazingly God says in the Quran “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.” (Quran 15:9).
Now isn’t a book claimed to be God’s word revealed to his final prophet, and unchanged until today worth exploring for answers about our true purpose of life and eternal salvation?
- A Manual for Life and Guidance for Humanity
So why did God reveal the Quran and what’s it all about? Since He created us for a great purpose, He didn’t leave us guessing. Instead, He revealed the Quran and sent Muhammad ﷺ along with it, containing everything we need to know to fulfill our purpose in this life and to find success in the Hereafter.
So the Quran functions as a guidance and manual from God to mankind. Afterall, who knows the needs and interests of the creation more than the Creator Himself? Accordingly, the Quran contains clear answers and explanations to all of life’s big questions such as; how were we created? Why were we created? What’s our purpose in life? And what happens after we die?
Critically for us, God clearly explains both who He is, as well as His own Names and Attributes in the Quran, leaving the sincere reader prepared to begin life’s purpose of worship and submission to The Creator alone.
The Quran explicitly explains how God requires us to worship Him alone, as well as how we can live a peaceful, content, purposeful and pure life here on earth, and how we can achieve eternal happiness and bliss in the next.
Amazingly, God even legislates detailed laws, regulations and systems of organizing and maintaining family, society and governance.
The Quran further elaborates on historical figures and events with shocking precision, confirming the previously sent prophets of God like Jesus, Moses and Abraham.
And with the utmost detail, it expounds upon the reality of the Afterlife, the Day of Judgement and our eternal abodes.
So the Quran is our manual for life, clarifying both our relationship with our Creator, as well as our relationship with the rest of creation.
- Filled with Miracles and Proofs
