The Quran is a divine book that was sent to mankind by Allah 1400 years ago. It calls for people to be guided towards the truth. The fact that it has many miraculous attributes and gave scientific truths in 1,400 AD is definite evidence of its divinity. Besides this there are many other proofs which show that the Quran is truly a revelation from God.
The Quran is not a book of science – it’s a book with Signs. Many scientific facts that are expressed in an extremely concise and profound manner in its verses have only been discovered with the technology of the 20th century. Even though these facts were impossible to know at the time, this proves even more how much God wants us to understand them through His words – The Quran! To understand this miracle scientifically, we must first consider what level of science was available when The Holy Book was revealed.
In the 7th century, when the Quran was revealed, Arab society had many superstitious and groundless beliefs in scientific matters. This is because they lacked technology to examine nature. These early Arabs believed in legends from past generations instead of knowledge gained through observation or experimentation. They supposed that mountains supported the sky above, which also led them to believe that earth was flat with high mountains at its both ends acting as pillars holding up a vault of heaven high above it all.
However all these superstitious beliefs were eliminated by verse 2 of Sura Ar-Ra’d:
”"It is Allah who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see"
[Noble Quran 13:2]
This is one example of the scientific miracles revealed in the Quran.
